Student Athletic Trainers

The Citrus College Athletic Training Room believes their Student Athletic Trainers are vital to the success of the athletic training room. Students Athletic Trainers work on a volunteer basis, putting in time both in the training room and out on the playing surface during games. Student Trainers are required to put in time at both places. It is preferred that Student Athletic Trainers be CPR Certified and have First Aid experience, though it isn't a requirement. Student Athletic Trainers are also expected to maintain positive academic status throughout their tenure in the athletic training room.

Student Athletic Trainers from Citrus College have gone on to pursue and finish their ATC requirements at California State University Fullerton, the University of La Verne, San Jose State University, San Diego State University, Azusa Pacific University, Northern Michigan University, and much much more.

If you are interested in becoming a Citrus College Student Athletic Trainer, please contact Head Athletic Trainer Steve Handy at shandy@citruscollege.edu or 626-914-8657.

There is also a basic athletic training class that is scheduled for each semester entitled "Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries (KIN 182).
