Culver City, CA -- The Citrus College Baseball closed out their 2015 regular season on Friday afternoon at West Los Angeles College. The Owls had a big day at the plate rapping out 15 hits and scoring double-digit runs in an 11-3 win over the Wildcats.

Citrus got the scoring going early, scoring six in the top of the first. Freshmen Jonathan Ayala, Joshua Chua, Rudy Casarez III, and sophomore Aaron Torres all drove in runs. The Owls added four more in the top of the fourth, when Chua hit an RBI single as did Casarez. Sophomore Taylor Grace also hit a single, driving in both Casarez and sophomore Shawn Sweeney. West LA showed some signs of life with three runs in the bottom of the seventh, but another RBI by Casarez in the top of the eighth put the game out of reach.

In the win, freshman Joseph Morreale looked good in his first start of the year. Morreale went five strong, giving up just three hits, no walks, and fanning six. At the plate Casarez was 2 for 4 with 3 RBI's, while Ayala went 2 for 5 with three runs and an RBI.

With the win, Citrus' regular season comes to a close at 20-15-1 and 13-8 in WSC South play, finishing in third place. The Owls have an outside chance of an at-large berth for the post-season, with the announcements coming from the CCCAA Office on Monday.
