Moorpark, CA - Citrus College freshman Benjamin Aguilera launched his team leading fifth home run of the year on Saturday afternoon to give the Owls an early 3-0 lead over host Moorpark College. It ended up being all Citrus would need as they went on to win 5-2, and moved to .500 on the year for the first time all season.

The aforementioned shot would come in the top of the third inning giving the Owls pitching more than enough cushion. Moorpark would score a single run in the bottom of the fourth and bottom of the sixth innings, but Citrus would score two more insurance runs in the top of the ninth (one from an RBI fielder's choice from sophomore Jacob Gafford and the other on an RBI double by freshman Donovyn Curiel) to ice the game.

Freshman Peter Eitapence would set the table nicely, pitching three scoreless innings, allowing just one base runner and facing the bare minimum batters, while fanning two. Sophomore Aaron Bernal would pick up the win, his third to date, after scattering three hits, two runs (one earned), a walk and four K's over five solid innings. Freshman Daniel Guerrero would earn his first save of the season by pitching the ninth without surrendering a run.

With the win, Citrus improves to 7-7-1 on the year. The Owls will be back in action next Tuesday when they host LA Mission College at 2:00 PM.
