Lancaster, CA - The Citrus College Baseball team scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning, getting all of the offense they needed on Tuesday afternoon. Those three runs were enough to get Citrus past the host Antelope Valley College Marauders 3-2 in WSC East play.

Freshman Peter Eitapence set the tone early for the Owls, taking the ball for the first three innings, giving up just four hits, and one walk to go along with six strikeouts. Eitapence did give up two runs though, putting the Owls into an early hole.

Citrus would remain in that hole until the previously mentioned sixth innings. Freshman Benjamin Aguilera would get the Owls on the board with an RBI single that brought in freshman Donovyn Curiel. Freshman Jesse Villalobos would follow that up with a sacrifice fly to center field that plated, sophomore Marcos Campos. With the game tied and the bases loaded a few at bats later, sophomore Jordan Achay posted the game winning RBI with a bases loaded walk that brought in freshman Kristian Scott.

Those three runs would be more than enough for sophomore Aaron Bernal. Bernal who took over the game in the fourth inning, allowed just six totals hits, one walk, and most importantly no runs in his time on the hill. Bernal fanned a pair and picked up his sixth win of the season in the process.

With the win, Citrus improves to 13-11-2 overall and 5-3-1 in WSC East play. The Owls will be back home on Thursday when they host the Marauders at 2:30 PM.
