Citrus Baseball hosted East Los Angeles College today in a non-conference matchup at Citrus Field. The Owls struggled from the mound early as the visiting Huskies went on a hitting spree that put them up 6-0 after 2 innings.

Citrus would answer with a couple of solo homers by first baseman Alexis Paz and catcher Teppei Fukuda, but the Owls struggled to catch up to the Huskies and would trail by at least 5 for the rest of the game.

Reserve pitcher Timothy Carter relieved starter Hayden Petrovick (0-1)and finished out the game, pitching 7.2 innings. Thomas Chavez kept his 3 game hitting streak alive with a single, an RBI and a stolen base; and second baseman Shota Usuda scored the third and final run for the Owls and chipped in a single.

Citrus moves to 2-1 on the season and returns to the diamond tomorrow at 2:00 PM at Citrus Field against Long Beach.
