Owls Aren't Enough To Slow Down Vikings

Citrus Baseball dropped its second game in a row yesterday as they fell short against visiting Long Beach City.

The Owls, who are now 2-2 overall have struggled to find their groove from the mound in the infant stages of the 2018 season. Although the pitching staff is carrying a subpar cumulative 4.75 ERA, the group does have an average of 1 strikeout per inning, which should be enough to lean on the the field play of the rest of the team to manufacture wins. But averaging 1.17 errors a game, and more often than not with runners in scoring position, isn't going to be a formula for success against most SoCal teams. Citrus undoubtedly will focus on its pitching and defense as the preseason grinds on.

The Owls play next at home on Tuesday vs Pasadena City. First pitch is at 2:00 PM.
