Owls Exploit Pasadena Losing Streak

Citrus Baseball continued its 3 game non-conference stretch with a road win over host Pasadena City yesterday afternoon. Citrus mounted a 9th inning rally to take an 8-3 lead, and by the hair of their collective chins, staved off a Lancer run that put Citrus up against the wall. The Owls would ultimately limit the Lancer rally to just 2 runs, winning the game 8-5 and driving home on the 210 East victorious.
Benjamin Aguilera got the start for Citrus on the mound, pitching 5 innings before Sir Jordan Gomez took over, pitching 4 innings, striking out 5 batters and picking up his 9th win of the season. Gomez's 9 wins is enough to be the number one pitcher in the state in that category.
Donvyn Curiel, who went 2 for 4 with a double is on a steady clip from the plate. In his last 27 at bats, Curiel has 14 base hits for a .518 batting average. 10 of those hits were for extra bases, including 6 doubles, a triple and 3 home runs for 9 RBI's, 12 runs scored, and added the cherry on top with 3 stolen bases and 9 walks.
