Owls Extend Streak With Road Win Over Barstow

Fighting Owl Baseball extended its streak to 3 games and continued its unbeaten conference season on Tuesday, in an 11-9 extra inning road victory over Barstow. Citrus improves to 7-10-1 in 2019, winning 6 of its last 8 games and 4 out of the last 5. The Owls remain unbeaten in conference play.

Citrus assembled an offensive barrage that included 7 different players recording at least 1 hit, 10 team RBI's and a pair of home runs.

Citrus saw impressive performances from several players. Ethan Cummins put together the best stat line, going 3 for 4 including a homer, along with 2 runs and 3 RBI's; Kanta Kobayashi went 3 for 4 as well, hitting a double and a home run, scoring 3 runs and driving in a run; Jose Sanchez went 3 for 5 with 2 RBi's and a run; and Thomas Chavez notched a double along with an RBI and 2 runs scored. 

Enrique Zaldivar got the start on the mound for the Owls and recorded 5 strikeouts in 3.2 innings pitched; Samuel Gomez faced 6 batters in 1 inning pitched and struck out 3; and Juan De La Torre finished out the game with 4 innings pitched, striking out 6 on 15 batters faced. 

Citrus takes the field again Thursday when they play host to Glendale for a conference matchup. First pitch is at 2:30 PM.
