Owl Center Fielder Kanta Kobayashi Selected to All-Region Team

Kanta Kobayashi, a standout centerfielder for the Citrus Baseball team in 2019, has been selected to the ABCA/Rawlings Pacific Association Division Southern California All-Region 2nd team.

The Freshman lead-off slugger for the Owls had a phenomenal season, leading the Owls in almost every hitting category. Kobayashi, who comes to Citrus by way of Jissen Gakuen High School in Japan, led the Owls in At Bats (162), Runs (36), Hits (63), Triples (3), Stolen Bases (29), Batting Average (.389), On Base Percentage (.457), and Slugging Percentage (.543). The fleet-footed phenom was ranked 5th in the state for stolen bases and 20th in the state for hits. 

The selection process is led by the ABCA Pacific Association Division All-America Committee, which is chaired by Paul Moore of the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association.

The Pacific Association Division is comprised of junior colleges from the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) and the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC).
