Citrus College Spring Sports Canceled

Citrus College Spring Sports Canceled

In light of the recent state and federal guidelines to help protect us during the COVID-19 outbreak and the uncertainty it has created, the California Community College Athletic Association Board of Directors has voted unanimously to cancel the remainder of the spring sports season. This includes any and all nontraditional seasons and practices outside of regularly scheduled classes through June 30, 2020.

The CCCAA Board has also granted relief to the nearly 9,500 spring sport student-athletes by restoring a season of competition for those student-athletes who were in good standing as of March 12, 2020. Good standing is defined as being on the team as of the date of postponement (March 12) and not having quit or been cut from the team. The CCCAA is working with the NAIA and NCAA to try to get that year back when student-athletes transfer.

While the news is disappointing, the Citrus College Athletic administration is committed to the safety of our student-athletes while also providing the best opportunities to fulfill their athletic and academic goals. We ask that student-athletes contact their coaches and administration to work on the best plan for them individually moving forward.
