Citrus College couldn't keep No. 5 Glendale College in check, falling 12-2 Thursday afternoon.
The Owls drop to 14-14 on the year and 7-4 in the Western State Conference. The Vaqueros hold onto their undefeated conference record and improve to 22-5 overall.
Only three Owls were able to get hits in the game: Conner McKinney, Dillon Swim and Diego Gonzales.
Citrus finally broke through the scoreless drought in the sixth inning on a two-out rally. With Robert Valdivia on second, Swim came in to pinch hit and knocked a hard infield single and Valdivia turned on the jets to put the Owls on the board. Swim then stole second and came home on Gonzales' RBI double down the left-field line.
The Owls and Vaqueros close out the series in Glendale on Saturday at 1 p.m.
