Two Citrus College baseball players are ready to continue their collegiate careers after finishing their playing days with the Owls. Kyle Dixon will travel across the country to Southern Wesleyan University in South Carolina, while Joseph Jimenez will stay local at Cal State Dominguez Hills.

Dixon, a sophomore left-handed pitcher, made 14 appearances on the mound this year, picking up three wins in 39.1 innings pitched, which ranked fourth in conference. He tossed 36 strikeouts and held opponents to a .299 average in Western State Conference action.

"Citrus meant the most to me because it gave me an opportunity to play and compete for a spot when not many other schools would," said Dixon. "With that being said, I am super excited about going to South Carolina. It's going to be some good competition and another chance for me to show what I got."

Jimenez, a sophomore right-handed pitcher, made 23 appearances on the mound for the Owls this year, picking up two wins and one save on the year. He was second on the team and 21st in the WSC with a 6.20 ERA. Jimenez threw 48 strikeouts this year in 45.0 innings pitched and held opponents to a .254 batting average in conference.

"Citrus College was a truly special time for me," said Jimenez. "It was an unforgettable experience, especially after me missing my senior year in high school due to Covid. The camaraderie I had with a great group of guys made it even more memorable. The counselors played a crucial role in setting me up for success and trusting the coaching process. I am grateful for the lessons learned at Citrus College and excited to continue my career at CSUDH, carrying those valuable experiences with me."
