Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Men's Basketball program advanced to the consolation championship of their annual home hosted tournament on Saturday afternoon. The Owls took down Orange Coast College 90-77, guaranteeing them one more game this weekend.

The Owls started off flat on Saturday afternoon. The Pirates scored the games' opening points and lead by as much as seven early on. Citrus' first lead of the game would come with 8:35 left thanks to a lay-in by sophomore Dominique Walker that made it 21-20. The Pirates would briefly regain the lead 24-22, but six straight free-throws from sophomore John Roach, freshman Jordan McNellys, and sophomore Justin Childress put the Owls back up 28-26, and Citrus never trailed again.

Citrus went into the half up by six and opened up the second half on a 6-0 run. From that point forward Citrus' lead was never really threatened. The Owls' lead would grow to as large as 18 after a lay-up by freshman Ryan Wiley with just under six to play.

In the win, Citrus was led by Roach's game high 20 points. Walker had 12 points as did Childress off the bench. Walker added six assists, while Wiley and freshman Mark Williams each had eight boards. Sophomore Chaunce Hill rounded out the highlights with six blocks.

With the win, Citrus improves to 2-3 on the season. The Owls will take on San Diego City College in the Consolation Championship on Sunday at 2:00 PM.
