Men's Basketball Picks Up 8th Straight Conference Win

Citrus Men's Basketball inched one step closer to clinching the outright Western State Conference East title for the third consecutive year on Wednesday. Citrus travelled to Glendale and handed the Vaqueros a 73-63 loss and grabbed onto at least a share of the conference title. If the Owls win Saturday, the title will be all theirs.

The game was closely contested by the Vaqueros, but the in-sync offense of the Owls was too much to handle and Citrus utilized all of its weapons to see the win through.

Josh Caston led all scorers with 20, including an 11-14 clip form the free throw line. Jesse Elrod got 13 off the bench including 3 threes. Psalm Maduakor contributed 8 points and joined Sam Gagliardi in snagging 12 rebounds to lead all players. Toby Okwuokei scored 10 including a pair of three pointers.

Citrus improves to 19-6 overall and stays unbeaten in conference with a 7-0 record.

The Owls take the court Saturday when they host Barstow for a 3:00 PM tipoff.
