With 8 straight conference wins and 2 more regular season games left to play, the Men's Basketball team has clinched its third straight Western State Conference East title on Saturday. The Owls beat visiting Barstow 85-59, and put themselves out of reach of the rest of the field, thereby claiming the outright title.

Citrus was firing on all cylinders Saturday, and every rostered player made an appearance in the team effort. The Owls were lighting it up form the three point line, hitting 42.6% of its long range jumpers. Ten of those threes were hit by Sam Gagliardi. Gagliardi broke the all time Citrus College record for three pointers in a single game, formerly held by Terrell Todd who hit 9 threes against College of the Canyons in 2012.

Aside from Gagliardi's 10 three pointers, the sophomore guard scored a total of 34 points in the game to lead all scorers and break his season high of 25 against Victor Valley on February 2nd. Toby Okwuokei dropped 11 points on the night, snagging 7 rebounds. Psalm Maduakor scored 8 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, also adding a pair of blocked shots. Jesse Elrod chipped in 10 points and 4 shot blocks.

Citrus improves to 20-6 overall with a perfect conference mark of 8-0. The Owls take the floor again Tuesday when they host Antelope Valley for the last home conference game of the year. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
