Owls Fall Back to Sixth in Final Regular Season Match

Glendale, CA -- A week after finishing in third place at their home hosted Western State Conference Event, the Citrus College Men's Golf team fell back to sixth place in the final regular season golf match of 2014. The Owls shot a combined 425 and won a card-off with Allan Hancock College at the WSC Event hosted by Glendale College at Oakmont Country Club.

On arguably the toughest course of the season, the average round was 84.08 and the lowest score was a 77, freshman Takakazu Furukawa was the leader in the clubhouse yet again. Furukawa fired a round of 82 to pace Citrus, finishing one stroke ahead of fellow frosh Joshua Herman. Sophomore's Matt Nolan, Homerson So, and Joshua Davis rounded out the final three scoring rounds, as So and Nolan shot 86's and Davis an 88.

The team round of 425, was just one stroke shy of 5th place Bakersfield's 424. It also was just nine strokes off of fourth place Ventura College.

The Owls will take next week off, before closing out the 2014 regular season at the 2014 Western State Conference Championships at Brookside Golf Course in Pasadena. The two round tournament, starts on Monday morning April 28th at 7:00 AM.
