Owls Finish 2nd at Home Hosted Match

San Dimas, CA - The Citrus College Men's Golf team finished in 2nd place when they hosted the rest of the Western State Conference on Monday afternoon at San Dimas Canyon Golf Course. The Owls finished with a round of 380, just six strokes behind first place College of the Canyons.

Freshman Brandon Dooley paved the way for the Owls firing a 73, putting him in 3rd Place individually. Freshman Trevor Perry was one stroke behind him with easily his best round of 2016, coming into the clubhouse with a 74. After that it was a trio of sophomores with Benjamin Bencomo carding a 77, while Tyler Bliss and Tyler Hoefferle each had 78's.

The aforementioned 380, was six strokes ahead of third place Ventura College. Santa Barbara City College was in fourth with a combined total of 400 strokes.

The Owls continue their conference schedule this next Monday when they hit the road for their longest trek of the year. Citrus will take part in the WSC Event hosted by Allan Hancock College at Santa Maria Country Club. Tee-time is set for 1:00 PM.
