Bencomo’s 75 Leads Owls at WSC Allan Hancock

Santa Maria, CA - Citrus College sophomore Benjamin Bencomo continued his recent hot stretch of play on Monday afternoon at the WSC Event hosted by Allan Hancock College. Bencomo shot a team low 75 on the day, and the Owls finished in fourth place as a team once again.

After Bencomo, sophomore Tyler Bliss was two strokes back with a 77. Freshman Brandon Dooley came in with a 78 as did sophomore Tyler Hoefferle. Freshman Trevor Perry rounded out the scoring afternoon's with an 80 that gave the Owls a team score of 388.

In the team standings, Citrus finished nine strokes back of third place Santa Barbara City College (379), and 14 back of second place Ventura College (374). College of the Canyons one again ran away with the day, posting a team round of 366. Bencomo was the only Owl to finish in the Individual Top 15, tying for 8th place.

The Owls will continue their conference schedule next Monday afternoon when they travel up the 210 to the 134 to Oakmont Country Club for the WSC Glendale Event. The conference match is set for a shotgun start at 11:00 AM.
