Rancho Mirage, CA - After becoming the first Citrus College men's golfers to qualify for the California Community College Athletic Association State Championships since the 2000 season, sophomores Tyler Bliss and Tyler Hoefferle last week, the Tylers followed that up with a pair of strong showings on Monday afternoon at Desert Island Golf and Country Club. Hoefferle came in 20th place individually, while Bliss finished 26th individually in a field of 60 of the best golfers from around the State of California.

Hoefferle got off to a strong start in the morning round with a 76. Bliss was just two strokes back with a 78. In the afternoon round, Hoefferle picked up two extra strokes with a 78, while Bliss managed to shave a stroke with a 77. Hoefferle finished with a 154, while Bliss managed a 155. The duo were on pace with the pack. While College of the Canyons' Ben Campbell ran away with the individual title posting a 142, the second place finisher, also from conference rival Canyons, had a 146, putting the duo eight and nine strokes back respectively.
