Owls Stay Fourth at WSC Antelope Valley

Palmdale, CA - The Citrus College Men's Golf team stayed in fourth place in what was a competitive match on Monday afternoon at Antelope Valley Country Club. Just 14 strokes separated first from fourth place on the afternoon, with Canyons taking first and the Owls finishing close behind in fourth.

Freshman Joshua Strong continued his road back from an injury setback earlier in the year with his second straight round of 77. That was good enough to lead the Owls, and good enough for 11th place individually. Sophomore James Bragger and freshman Adam Dinaully each carded rounds of 78, finishing in a tie for 13th place individually, while freshman Aaron Coiner continued his strong stretch with a 79, that put him in a three-way tie for 15th place overall. Freshman Gabriel Sosa would round out the scoring rounds with an 83.

As a team, Citrus shot a combined 395, which was 11 strokes in front of fifth place Glendale College, and just two strokes behind third place Santa Barbara City College. The Owls also only trailed second place Ventura by 12 strokes, while the Pirates finished two strokes back of the winning Cougars.

Citrus will wrap up its 2017 regular season on Monday morning when they take part in the 2017 WSC Finals. The first of two rounds on the day will begin at approximately 7:00 AM at Cypress Ridge Golf Course in Arroyo Grande.
