Owls Open Season on Challenging Course

Citrus College got its season underway at the two-day Pt. Conception Open on a challenging course.

The Owls beat three other teams, including one from the Western State Conference, and were right on the cusp of two other conference squads. Citrus finished with a 438, which was one stroke off Santa Barbara City College and five behind Ventura College.

Chris Ruiz led the Owls with an 83, followed by Kerry Valenzuela's 84. Lorenzo Herrera also finished under 90, carding an 87.

Citrus opens conference action next week, heading to the WSC #1 at Oakmont CC on Monday with a 10 a.m. tee time.
