Citrus College braved the cold at the RCC Invitational Monday morning and finished with a 399 as a team – just seven strokes off the College of the Canyons (392), which won the State Championship last year.

The Owls beat out host Riverside City College (404) and fellow Western State Conference members Ventura College (406) and Glendale College (406).

Kabir Chadha led the Owls with a 76 on the day, while Lorenzo Herrera followed with a 78. Chris Ruiz carded an 80, while Ashtin Mount finished with an 82, and Matthew Ibarra was one behind with an 83. Daichi Nishisu posted an 85 as the Owls' drop score.

Citrus resumes conference action next week at the WSC #3, teeing off at 10 a.m.
