Citrus Keeps Close With Conference Competition

Citrus College took fourth at the second-to-last Western State Conference meet before the conference championships in two weeks, with just seven strokes separating the top-five teams.

The Owls finished with a 396 to sit in fourth in the overall conference standings on the season. Citrus was just five strokes off first-place Ventura College (391) and four strokes off second-place College of the Canyons (392).

Kabir Chadha led the Owls with a 75, followed closely by Ashtin Mount and Daichi Nishisu, who both carded 78s. Matthew Ibarra posted an 82 and Chris Ruiz rounded out the scorers with an 83.

Citrus has one final regular-season competition before the WSC Championship, heading to the Sand Piper Golf Course in Santa Barbara next week.
