Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Men's Soccer team closed out their 2012 campaign on Friday afternoon in the friendly confines of Citrus Stadium when they hosted Western State Conference Rival Glendale College. Things didn't end on a high note though, as the Owls lost to the Vaqueros 2-1.

Glendale played the role of the aggressor on Friday, taking 16 shots to Citrus' 6. That aggressiveness paid off midway through the first half when they took a 1-0 lead on a goal from Genaro Barriantos in the 30th minute. Citrus answered shortly thereafter when freshman Ryo Takamine scored in the 39th minute, his sixth of the year, to make it 1-1.

The game would stay tied at one goal apiece through halftime, and for a few minutes into the second half. Glendale would go up back on top in the 51st minute when Barriantos scored his second of the day. That would be all for either team, as Citrus dropped their fifth straight and seventh in their last eight.

With the loss, Citrus' season ends with a 4-12-4 overall record and 3-10-3 in Western State Conference play.
