Turning of the Table

Norco, CA - Four days after scoring a last second goal down at Palomar College, the Citrus College Men's Soccer program experienced a turning of the table on Tuesday afternoon in a 1-0 loss at Norco College. The Mustangs scored with less than seven minutes left in regulation to send the Owls home empty handed.

It was a back and forth game between the two schools who kept each other on their respective toes. Norco notched the most offensive attempts between the two schools, with the Mustangs getting off 12 shots, compared to 7 by the Owls. Freshman keeper Jorge Quinones Guerrero was busy in the net, stopping 9 shots, including a penalty kick in the first half. Alas, the 10th and fateful final shot by Norco on the day was the one that sunk Citrus, pushing them back to 2-2 on the year.

The Owls will be back in action this coming Friday when they take on defending CCCAA State Champion and former WSC rival Oxnard College. The match is set for a 4:00 PM showdown in Oxnard.
