Owls Tie Defending State Champs 0-0

Oxnard, CA – For the first time since 2008, the Citrus College Men's Soccer team earned a results against long time thorn in their side Oxnard College, with a 0-0 tie over the weekend. Even more impressive, was the Owls did so against the Condors when they are arguably at the peak of their prowess fresh off the program's first ever CCCAA State Championship in 2015.

Oxnard College controlled much of the action in the contest, outshooting the Owls 9-2. Citrus came up big defensively though, getting four saves and a shutout from freshman keeper Gabriel Perez-Negron.

With the tie, Citrus improves to 2-2-1 on the year. The Owls will take a break from action over the next week before resuming CCCAA play on Tuesday September 20th against El Camino College-Compton Center inside Citrus Stadium at 4:00 PM.
