Cypress, CA - The Citrus College Men's Soccer team took two fewer shots and five fewer corner kicks than their host Cypress College on Tuesday afternoon. The Owls beat the Chargers where it mattered though, scoring twice and shutting out Cypress, in a 2-0 victory.

Citrus' first score would come midway through the first half when sophomore Emilio Del Villar linked up with freshman Joel Rosales for a strike in the 23rd minute. It was Villar's second assist of the season, and Rosales' fourth goal of the year.

The Owls' put the game away early in the second half, when freshman Maximiliano Ramirez found the back of the net on an unassisted strike in the 50th minute. Freshman keeper Jorge Quinones Guerrero was superb in the net, stopping all three shots he faced and anchoring the Owls defense for his first shutout of the year.

With the win, Citrus improves to 5-3-1 overall. The Owls will take a break from action the rest of the week before starting Western State Conference South Division play on Tuesday October 11th against Antelope Valley College. First touch is set for 4:00 PM inside Citrus College Stadium.
