Vaqueros Upend Owls in 79th Minute

Glendora, CA - The Citrus College Men's Soccer team had their three game point streak come to a halt on Tuesday afternoon. The Owls managed just five total shots in a physical contest with visiting Glendale College that saw Citrus fall to the Vaqueros 2-1.

Glendale would land the matches first blow, when they put one past freshman keeper Gabriel Perez-Negron in the 41st minute. Citrus would answer 14 minutes into the second half when freshman Enrique Acosta netted his third goal of the season off a pass from sophomore Emilio Del Villar. The Owls would keep the match tied up for 20 minutes, until Glendale scored what would end up being the game winner in the 79th minute.

With the loss, Citrus drops to 6-4-2 overall and 1-1-1 in WSC South play. The Owls have another tall task on Friday when they travel to Victor Valley College for a 4:00 PM showdown with the Rams. Victor Valley is currently tied with Glendale on top of the WSC South with seven points, and is 5-3-1 at home this year.
