Owls Soar in Offensive Barrage

In an Owl-dominated match, the men's soccer team showcased their offense with a thrilling 4-0 shutout against the Moorpark Raiders. With complete control of the game, Citrus improved their record to 2 wins for the season. The game was owned early by the Citrus forwards, but it was twins Noel Rosales and Joel Rosales, who stole the show by each bagging a pair of goals by the end of the final whistle, and sealing the win for the Owls.

The first half of the game was met by several early chances for the Owls, as Citrus was relentless with 6 shots on goal. Gaining momentum, the Owls' offense began to roll after a blazing shot by forward Sergio Gonzalez that hit the crossbar in the 20th minute. Moorpark did their best to hang with the Owls, as they showed potential to gain control of the game in a corner kick that came in the 39th minute, but then saved by goalkeeper Jorge Quinones. It was defender Noel Rosales who had different plans for the Raiders as he dominated the air and scored not one, but two headers off of corner kicks in the 56th and 62nd minute of the second half to get Citrus rolling. The Owls did not stop the shootout there, as they showed no intentions of slowing down as the game progressed.

Joel Rosales, forward and twin brother of Noel Rosales, made it clear that he wanted to join the party. Joel is another regular piece of the Owls offensive arsenal and proved it with 2 complementary goals in the 78th and 86th minute, assisted by Sergio Gonzalez and Ismael Marquez, respectively. Very much like the first half, Citrus was not done attacking the goal of the Raiders. Adding on an extra 12 shots on goal to their numbers. Citrus flexed their muscles in the second half in a match that undoubtedly belonged to the Owls.

Looking to improve their season to 3 wins, the Owls next step is to travel to Santa Monica College on the 26th.
