Men's Soccer: Back and Forth Battle Ends in 3-3 Draw

Men's Soccer hosted Pasadena City College for a Southern California Regional match on Tuesday. The Owls ended in draw with the Lancers, 3-3.

The game was hotly contested throughout both halves of play. Both teams traded jabs, with the Owls striking first. Citrus would go up 1-0 in the 7th minute on a goal by David Dryer, who was gifted a nice ball from Imer Figeuroa and sealed the deal. Pasadena would answer quickly though, putting one in the back of the net at 11:18 to tie it up. The score would remain tied until the 42nd minute when the Lancers found a hole in the Owl defense and made the score 2-1. But Citrus didn't sit idly by. Imer Figeuroa was tripped in the box and awarded a penalty kick. The midfielder captain sent the ball home and tied up the score 2-2 in the last seconds of the first half.

Pasadena would answer again, scoring in the 55th minute and regaining their lead over Citrus. The intensity level picked up as time wound down on the Owls, and at 85:06, Adolfo Jimenez sent a rocket at the Pasadena goal that found its mark and tied up the score 3-3. The teams would play out the final minutes, but the score would remain tied at the end of regulation play.

The tie moves the Owls to 0-8-2 on the year. The guys suit up again Friday in a road match at Oxnard. First touch is at 2:00 PM.
