Men’s Soccer: Owls Have Seven Named All-Conference

Glendora, CA - After a strong finish to their conference campaign, the Citrus College Men's Soccer team had seven individuals earn All-Western State Conference South Division honors. Three were named 1st team selections, while another two earned 2nd team honors, and finally two more were named to the Honorable Mention team.

Sophomore midfielder's Imer Figueroa and Sergio Gonzalez, were named the 1st team honorees alongside freshman keeper Luis-Enrique Delgado. Figueroa appeared in all 20 games in 2019, starting 19. He was second on the team with five goals and matched the team high two assists for a total of 12 points. Gonzalez, who was named the conference MVP back in 2017, led the Owls with six goals, two assists, and a team best 14 points. Delgado meanwhile notched 40 saves with a .702 save percentage, and a 2.43 GAA, in seven appearances in the net.

Earning 2nd team All-Conference honors were freshman Carlos Guevara and sophomore keeper Thomas Garcia. Guevara was a key sub for the Owls, coming off the bench in 14 of his 17 overall appearances. Guevara finished the season with three goals. Garcia meanwhile started nine games for the Owls in goal, stopping 67 shots, posting a .761 save percentage and a 2.33 GAA.

Rounding out the honorees were freshmen Francisco Lopez and Darold Rose. Lopez was a member of the Owls back line, and one of it's staunchest defenders adding one goal to his resume. Rose wreaked havoc on opposing defenses allowing for many an opportunity for his teammates and scoring a pair of goals on the way.
