Owls Defend Home Waters Well

After 11 days, Citrus College was back in action, hosting Ventura College in a Western State Conference contest Wednesday evening. The Owls picked up an 11-5 victory, improving to 11-9 on the year and 2-1 in conference. The Pirates drop to 4-11 overall, 0-3 in WSC play.

Colton Vale and Riley Bagley each rattled in four goals for Citrus, which also saw goals from Killian Pressley, Devon Dow and Thomas Gibson.

The Owls opened to a 2-0 lead off goals from Vale and Bagley in the first quarter, but soon found themselves tied 4-4 at halftime.

After Ventura scored halfway through the third, Vale knocked in a pass from Logan Haberle to set Citrus off on a 6-0 run to finish the game.

Brian de Lama continued his solid performance in the cage, finishing with 14 saves to pick up the win.

Citrus remains at home for a pair of games on Friday, first hosting Chaffey College at 11 a.m. before taking on Crafton Hills at 1 p.m.
