Glendora, CA - After looking impressive through their first three games and more often than not being the hammer and not the nail, Citrus got a taste of their own medicine on Wednesday afternoon when they were mercy ruled by visiting Fullerton College. The Owls committed a miserable seven errors and just weren't right throughout in a 14-2 loss.

Things got off to a rough start from the jump, when Fullerton ran out to a 3-0 lead after the top of the first. Citrus rallied in the bottom half of the inning when sophomore Jade Nua drilled a home run to center field to make it 3-2, but things went South from there.

The Hornets would go on to score at least two runs in the three of the final four innings, including a back-breaking seven spot in the top of the fourth. Of their 11 runs scored in that stretch, only two were earned. Citrus' offense meanwhile went the way of their gloves as they never recovered.

With the loss, Citrus drops to 3-1 on the year. The Owls will be back in action on Thursday when they host defending CCCAA State Champs Santiago Canyon College in double-header play.
