Despite a last inning rally by the Owls, Citrus Softball dropped a WSC Conference game to visiting Antelope Valley on Thursday, losing the contest 3-4.

Citrus struggled to ignite at the plate early, going runless through 6 innings and putting only 2 runners on base. Antelope Valley first scored in the 3rd inning on a SAC fly, but would turn up the volume in the 6th inning when the Marauders put another 2 runs on the board, finally increasing their lead to 4-0 by the end of the 6th following a key fielding error by the Owls.

The rally by the Owls in the bottom of the 7th would lead to getting the winning run at the plate, but Citrus couldn't seal the deal and narrowly dropped their 3rd conference game of the season.

Citrus falls to 11-8 overall and 2-3 in WSC East conference play. The Owls take the field again Tuesday when they travel to Victorville to take on another conference rival, Victor Valley. First pitch is scheduled for 2:30 PM.
