In a rescheduled rainout game from March 22nd, the Citrus Softball Team recovered from a 7-3 loss at LA Valley Tuesday and routed the visiting Glendale Vaqueros 8-0. Wednesday's win was a key conference win for the Owls, as they have lingered in the middle of the WSC East for much of the conference season. The Owls are now 5-4 in conference and hold the 4th spot, tied with LA Valley.

The Owls made it clear to Glendale that they didn't intend to drop a conference game on their home turf and took care of business in 6 innings, capturing the mercy rule win and looking forward to the rest of their busy week.

Citrus had a pleasant surprise from the mound in Giavanna Muenz. Muenz took advantage of the starting nod from Head Coach Terry Paredez and pitched a complete game, a 1 hit shutout. Muenz was backed up by a super efficient defense. The Owls were error free from the field, executing crisp, fundamentally sound team fielding. Citrus took control at the plate as well, hitting .480 as a group and not giving up a single strikeout.

Citrus will continue to churn through their intense schedule this week as they host undefeated conference foe Canyons at 2:30 today. Canyons is on a 7 game winning streak, a streak the Owls will be determined to end.
