Citrus Softball hosted Cerritos College Friday afternoon in a non-conference game that went to the Falcons 11-3 after 5 innings.
Cerritos started off the game with a big bang, scoring 7 runs before the Owls even got to the plate in the 1st inning. The Owls struggled to contain the offenseive barrage of Cerritos throughout. On the offensive side, although Citrus put together 7 hits, they would leave 7 batters stranded in vain. A bright spot for the Owls came from slugger Leticia Morales who logged 3 hits including a double, 2 RBI's and 1 stolen base. Shania Carlin, one of the steadiest hitters on the Owl team, chipped in 2 hits for 1 run and 1 RBI.
Citrus has had a relentless schedule this week, making up for a couple of rain delays from previous weeks, on top of an already busy lineup of games. The Owls return to the field tomorrow as they travel to Fullerton. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
