Despite Late Rally, Citrus Comes Up Short at Antelope Valley

Despite Late Rally, Citrus Comes Up Short at Antelope Valley

The Citrus Softball team hit the road yesterday for a WSC East conference matchup versus Antelope Valley. The Marauders topped the Owls 11-10, even after a gritty and determined rally by Citrus in the 6th and 7th innings.

The Owls took the lead in the top of the 7th on a solo homer by slugger Alexis Acosta. But AVC buckled down and retook the lead on a rally of their own, winning on a walk off sacrifice fly and solidifying its place as the #2 team in conference. The Owls, conversely, drop to 7-6 in conference play and occupy the 5th spot in the large and disparate WSC East.

Citrus has had a pretty intense schedule as of late, making up rain delay games on top of an already busy calendar, and the pace won't let up any time soon. The Owls play again at 2:30 tomorrow at home versus Victor Valley and a double header Friday in Pasadena.
