Owls Make Short Work of Barstow On the Road

Softball had a road trip north to Barstow Thursday for a Western State Conference East matchup. The Owls made short work of the Vikings, taking the game 9-1 in a 5th inning mercy rule win. 

Three players doubled for the Owls, Giavanna Muenz, Megan Jones and Alexis Acosta all posted doubles, Acosta had 2. Alex Valenzuela and Cerina Martinez each snagged 3 baggers on the day. 

Danielle Dominguez picked up the win on the mound for Citrus, pitching all 5 innings and striking out 5 on 21 batters faced. 

The Owls improve to 19-18 overall and 8-5 in conference. The Citrus squad takes the field Saturday when they play Santa Ana at 11:00 AM and Pasadena City at 3:00 PM. Both games are at home for the Owls.
