Softball SoCal Regionals: Game 1 goes to Comets in best of 3 series

San Marcos, Calif - Citrus Softball kicked off the CCCAA Southern California Regional Playoffs on Friday at Palomar College in San Marcos. The Owls dropped game 1 of the best-of-three series 4-0. 

Palomar narrowly missed posting a perfect game on Citrus, with Allie Hughe pitching 6 hitless innings and striking out 11.  The only 2 Owls baserunners of the game were a hit-by-pitch walk for Giavanna Muenz in the 1st inning, and a single up the middle by Megan Jones on the Comets reliever in the 7th inning.  

Citrus will regroup overnight and prepare for the 2nd game of the series, which is scheduled for tomorrow at noon in Palomar. Game 3 would be played at 2:00 PM, if necessary.
