Pirates Limit Owls

Citrus College Softball hosted Ventura College today, losing a close game by a score of 2-1. 

Citrus College goes to 2-8 overall on the season, while Ventura College improves to 6-1 overall on the year. 

The Owls scored in the bottom of the first inning off a Jaelynn Eaves RBI single to score Ava Camarena to go up 1-0. Citrus held onto their 1-0 lead into the fourth inning when Ventura scored two runs to go up 2-1 as the Owls were unable to get another hit with the final score being 2-1. 

The Owls' lone hit belonged to Jaelynn Eaves who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Ava Camarena drew two walks and stole three bases. Caitlin Kelley pitched all seven innings, striking out five batters. 

Citrus College will look to bounce back and get their first win of this month against Golden West College at home, this Thursday, February 20th at 2:30 p.m.
