Moorpark, CA -- The Citrus College Women's Basketball team closed out their weekend at the Moorpark Classic on Sunday afternoon with a 54-49 win over the tournaments host Moorpark College. The win gave the Owls the Consolation Championship.

For the second straight game, the Owls did their damage at the free-throw line. Citrus was 26 of 31 from the charity stripe, including a 10 of 11 effort by sophomore point guard Taylor Jackson. The Owls shot just 27.7% from the field, but more than made up for it, by its ability to get to the line. Jackson finished with 14 points, eight rebounds, and three steals. Sophomore Jaelyn Wilson had a team high 15 points to go along with seven rebounds. Wilson was named to the All-Tournament team.

With the win, Citrus improves to 5-4 on the year. The Owls will be back out on the road this weekend for a pair of games in the Ventura College Crossover. Citrus opens the two day event against Pasadena City College on Friday at 5:00 PM in the Ventura College Athletics Event Center.
