Santa Monica, CA - Freshman Joy Adlao hit five three pointers, and the Owls shot 44.3% from the floor while holding their host Santa Monica College to 24.3% shooting from the field on Wednesday evening. The result, Citrus cruised to their fifth straight win and third in conference play with a 85-56 victory over the host Corsairs.

 The Owls wasted little time in jumping out to a big lead, outscoring Santa Monica by 11 in the opening quarter. Citrus kept it going in the second with a 23-14 quarter, to take a 20 point lead into the break. The Owls never took their foot off the gas, outscoring Santa Monica by eight in the third and one in the fourth as they posted a 29 point win their biggest of the conference season thus far.

In the win, Adlao led all scorers with 19 points, going 5 of 8 from downtown. Freshman Marisa Brown added another 11 off the bench, while freshman Marisol Chavez-Delgado had 10 and a team high eight boards. Sophomore Janae Chamois rounded out the double-digit scoring nights with 11 points taking a season low five shots from the floor.

With the win, Citrus improves to 10-6 overall and 3-0 in WSC South play. The Owls will be back home on Saturday night when they host College of the Canyons in an early season showdown between undefeated teams in the WSC South. Tip-off is set for 3:00 PM in the Owls' Nest.
