San Jacinto, CA - The Citrus College Women's Basketball team was bounced out of the San Jacinto Lion's Club Lady Eagle Tip-Off Tournament in the consolation round by Orange Coast College on Saturday afternoon. With two of their top bigs sidelined, the Owls got outrebounded by 16 and have up 42 points in the paint in a 77-46 loss.

It took Citrus too much time to get into an offensive rhythm on the afternoon. The Owls first points in the first quarter came off a pair of free-throws by sophomore Marisa Brown two and a half minutes in, and the Owls first field goal wouldn't come until the 4:24 mark after a three-point play was converted by sophomore Jessica Rosas. Citrus would trail by seven after one, and 18 at the break and never really made it back into the game in the loss.

Rosas would lead the Owl effort on the day scoring 23 points off the bench, adding 10 rebounds, two assists and three steals. Brown would chip in with 11 and 14, as the two combined for 72% of the offense on the day.

With the loss, Citrus falls to 1-4 on the year. The Owls will be back in action on Saturday October 19th, when they travel to San Diego City College (0-3) for a 2:00 PM tip.
