Fighting Owls Finish Strong in Takedown of Ranked Chaffey

Citrus Women's Basketball traveled to Rancho Cucamonga Wednesday to take on the Chaffey College Panthers, who has been ranked in the top 20 in SoCal this season. The Owls kept the game close throughout all four quarters, but the difference was the strong finish in the 4th quarter and solid 3-point shooting by the Owls' perimeter shooters. Citrus would end the night with a 38.5% mark from the arc. Chaffey would shoot the three, but missed every shot due to the quick defensive switches and court awareness by Citrus.

Standouts for the Owls on the night included Marisol Chavez-Delgado, who sank 16 points on 8 for 10 shooting and pulled down 12 total rebounds, 5 of them coming on the offensive glass. Jezteni Espinoza contributed 17 points with three 3-pointers and added four assists and a pair of steals. Diana Navarro scored 13 and assisted her teammates 5 times.

Citrus will take to the hardwood again on Saturday when they travel to San Diego City College. Tip off is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
