Citrus College Women's Basketball traveled to El Camino College tonight for their final game of the ECC Crossover, picking up a 78-62 win over Irvine Valley College.
Citrus College moves to 4-1 overall on the season while Irvine Valley College goes to 3-4 on the year.
The Owls and Lasers played a close game through the first two quarters as Irvine Valley held a one-point lead at halftime.
Citrus College went on an 11-0 run midway through the third quarter making the score 50-39 and held an eight-point lead going into the fourth quarter.
The Owls doubled their eight-point lead in the fourth quarter by outscoring the Lasers 21-13 to earn their fourth win of the season.
Citrus College was led by sophomore guard, Jolleen Olia who scored 24 points and had a game-high four steals. Kristin Morella had 15 points off the bench, shooting 7-11 from the field, adding three steals and three rebounds. Samantha Martinez scored eight points and grabbed a team-high of 10 rebounds. Breanna Escobedo dished out a game-high nine assists while Leilani Argueta hit a game-high three three-pointers in the win.
The Owls have a road game with Pasadena City College in their next game on Tuesday, November 26th at 5 p.m.
