Lopez Leads Pack; Owls Second After Day One of WSC Championships

Solvang, CA -- Through one day of competition at the 2015 WSC Championships the Citrus College Women's Golf team found themselves in a familiar position, sitting in second place. The Owls were just five strokes back after round number one, while sophomore Jamie Lopez paced the entire pack with a 75.

 Coming into the clubhouse behind Lopez were sophomore Lexandra So and freshman Lexi Tunstad. Both individuals carded rounds of 82. Sophomore Brittany Thelen meanwhile had arguably her best round of the year with an 88. 

As a team the Owls posted a score of 327. Santa Barbara City College let the first day with a 322, while College of the Canyons was in third with a 349. 

Citrus will be back out on the course tomorrow morning  at approximately 8 AMlooking to qualify for the Southern California Championships as a team for the first time in program history.
