Owls Stay Second at Third WSC Event

Filmore, CA - The Third Western State Conference Event of the season took place on Monday afternoon at Elkins Ranch Golf Course. The Owls finished second once again, in the event that was hosted by College of the Canyons.

Sophomore Lexi Tunstad was the first Owl in the clubhouse firing an 83. Her 83 was just five strokes off the low round of the after fired off by a pair of Santa Barbara City College golfers. It also put her in a three-way tie for sixth place individually. Freshman Alex Martinez continued her recent strong streak shooting an 86, and finishing just outside the Top 10. Freshmen Angela Adams and Lauren Madueno who carded rounds of 109 and 112 respectively.

As a team the Owls shot a combined 390 on the day. The total kept Citrus in front of third place Antelope Valley (405) and fourth place Bakersfield College (408).

The Owls will be back in action over the weekend when they take part in the Morro Bay Invitational on the California's Central Coast.
