Owls Continue Down Steady Path in Final Regular Match of Year

Simi Valley, CA - With the 2016 season slowly moving into the rearview mirror, the Citrus College Women's Golf team continued down it's steady path on Monday afternoon at the WSC Event hosted by Moorpark College. The Owls finished in 2nd place again, and got steady rounds from it's usual suspects, including a rebound round by freshman Lauren Madueno.

Sophomore Lexi Tunstad, continued to hold her place at the top of the food chain for the Owls, firing a round of 80, good for 6th place individually on the day. Freshman Alexandra Martinez followed that up with a 90, while Madueno, who had struggled as of late, rallied on Monday with a 91. Freshman Angela Adams continued her recent steady play with a 92 to round out the scoring rounds of the day. Freshmen Grazia Watkins and Bruna Prestes had the final two non-scoring rounds with scores of 99 and 110 respectively.

As a team, the Owls shot a combined 353 on the afternoon, in it's usual spot behind Santa Barbara City College but well in front of fourth place Bakersfield College. The Owls will close out the regular season next Sunday and Monday when they participate in the 2016 Western State Conference Finals. Sunday's tee-time is set for 12:00 PM at Elkins Ranch, while Monday is set for an 11:00 AM tee-time at Buena Ventura.
