Women's Golf Battles and Holds WSC Position at San Dimas Canyon

Women's Golf hosted their sole home round of the 2018 at San Dimas Canyon Golf Club on Monday. The Owls maintained their current position in the WSC in 4th place, finishing just behind Bakersfield on the day.

Shizuka Okochi, the #1 golfer on the year for Citrus, currently sits in 10th overall in the WSC individually, but slipped a little from her average, recording an uncharacteristic 90 on the day. But Okochi hit some impressive shots throughout the round, including a sand trap out on the front 9 that resulted in a par save, and a scramble from the fairway periphery on the 8th hole that kept her in the running on the front 9. Brianne Porter tied her best round of the season with a 93, and stayed strong in the 16th spot overall.

Citrus holds solid in the #4 spot in the WSC for the 5th straight week, in what is a really tough conference this season. With a lot more golf to play in 2018, the Owls will look to chip away at their opponents and move up the ranks in the coming weeks. The Owls travel to Bakersfield this Monday where they'll compete at the Rio Bravo Country Club. Tee times start at 11:00 AM.
