Women's Soccer Keeps Rolling, Win Streak at 4

Citrus Women's Soccer has been having a banner season. The Owls have moved up to 8-1-2 on the 2018 season, knocking off another foe yesterday when they traveled north to Cuesta College. Citrus ran away with the game after recovering from an early Cuesta goal, putting 4 shots in the back of the net, and easily finishing out the 2nd half for the win. 

Forward Ruth McDonaugh, who is racking up goals at impressive clip with 8 so far, is scoring an impressive 73% of the time she shoots. Her 8 goals lead the Owls in 2018. Isabelea DeLeon, one of the Owls' other offensive weapons, is producing offense at key moments for Citrus, notching a team leading 3 assists, cracking 15 shots and recording 4 goals. Goalkeeper Olivia Handy is currently ranked #8 in the state in wins with 8, and finds herself in the top 20 statewide in save percentage (.844) and shutouts (3). 

Citrus, who has been strong all season, is still battling to break into the top 20 teams in the state. The rankings have seen them just outside the list, but still getting votes. In the meantimne though, the Owls are ranked #3 in the Southern California Region.  

Citrus will take the field next on Saturday on the road at San Bernardino. Kickoff is 6:00 PM.
